A new trend that has emerged in recent years is the painted bridal portrait. Painted portraits resemble oil paintings, and have a classic and timeless look. These portraits are typically not actually painted – although they can be – but are created using computer software which simulates the strokes of a paint brush, and results in a painted look.
Images from a bridal portrait session are taken and put through this process. These images don’t convey the painted look very well in small prints – they really must be printed large to appreciate the detail so they are typically printed in large format (16×20 or larger). They are also usually printed on canvas to accentuate the painted effect.
These portraits are truly one of a kind – every one is different. If you are looking for unique way to present your bridal portrait, painted portraits may be the way to go.
